- #3930 ((4e exemplum)) : Prebend and King Philip. The bishop of Carnoten promised King Philip that he would give him the first prebend that he had. After many became vacant, the king grew indignant. - #863 ((1er exemplum)) : Capon to remove anxiety. When King Philip of France has the poor clerks to dinner, he sees a clerk steal a capon. Calling him aside privately, he asks what he has studied.
