(En.) The Emperor asked Rabbi Joshua whether the dead came to life and being dust, how could dust live? The daughter of the Emperor replied: " There are two makers of things in our place, one makes things out of water and the other out of earth; which one is the most skilful?" The Emoeror replied:" The one who makes them out of water." She replied: " And God created everything out of water, how much easier then is it to revive those formed of dust." (Gaster, p. 54)

(Fr.) L’empereur de Rome interrogea Rabban Gamliel sur la résurrection des morts." Comment des morts étant faits de poussière peuvent-ils vivre?" La fille de l’empereur lui répondit : " Il y a deux sortes d’artisans dans notre ville, celui qui crée à partir de l’eau et celui qui crée à partir de la terre, quel est le plus admirable ?" L’Empereur lui répondit :" Celui qui crée à partir de l’eau." Sa fille lui répondit :" Et Dieu a tout créé à partir de l’eau. Combien plus facile est-il de faire revivre des morts faits de poussière !"
