(En.) A man who had been used to fat meat and aged wine grew poor. He came for help to Rabbi Nehemiah who offered him the lentils which he himself ate, but the man accustomed to better fare was unable to sustain himself with mere lentils, and he died. Clearly no man should have been so self-indulgent. (Gaster,p.102)

(Fr.) Un homme qui avait l’habitude de se nourrir de viande et de bon vin devint pauvre et vint demander de l’aide à Rabbi Nehemiah. Ce dernier l’invita à partager son repas qui se composait de lentilles. Mais l’homme ne put supporter ce régime et mourut.
