Item ad idem. Legitur in Libro de Septem Donis Spiritus Sancti quod quidam clericus in diversis et maximis peccatis implicatus Deo inspirante confessus est, et peccata sua scribens ivit Parisius ad Sanctum Victorem. Et quia pre nimio dolore non poterat legere suam scripturam, confessori suo eam tradidit ut eam legeret et ipse responderet sic vel non. Confessione facta, confessor deliberationem retinuit de penitentia injungenda, et vocatis multis, cum cartulam aperuisset invenit totum deletum et pergamenum ita mundum ac album ac si nunquam fuisset scriptum. Et rediens ad eum, plenitudinem remissionis et habundantiam divine misericordie nunciavit.

A demon reveals that a girl is no longer a virgin, but her confession makes him deny his original claim. 3. A archbishop is raising the Host when a man is possessed by the devil and accuses a monk of a sin; the monk then confesses. 4. A devil, speaking through a woman, tells a lay brother of his unconfessed sins. The latter confesses and the devil is no longer aware of these sins. (See also: 1569).
