Groupe 2 : Le corps et le sang du Christ (n° 21-24)

SummaryRésuméZusammenfassungSommarioResumen:
(En.) Rend your hearts, etc. If the heart of the Christian is to be rent, there is need of a knife. And who will provide the knife? The passion of Christ. There are three parts to the knife: the handle, the blade, and the point. Consider, Christian, the nails with which the hands and feet of Christ were pierced on your account: here you have the blade. In addition to this, consider the spear that struck his side: here you have the point. Remember the wood upon which he hung: here you have the handle. Consider these three and you have the knife by which the hardness of your heart can be rent and softened to love Him who has loved you so very much, and to imitate Him so that, just as he deigned to die for you, you, if necessary, may lay down your life for Him. And meanwhile, within the peace of the Church, you are to mortify yourself so that you might die to your vices and live by your virtues. For verily, He did love us, who opened His heart to us so that He might receive us deep within it.
(Fr.)

Scindite corda uestra, etc.

Vt cor christiani scindatur opus est cultello. Et quis dabit cultellum? Christi passio. Rememorare lignum in quo pependit; hic habes manubrium.
