Unde refert Valerius quod quidam rex fuit maximus tyrannus et inhumanus; cujus mortem cum omnes optarent, quedam tamen mulier maxime Deum orabat ut incolumis servaretur. Quod cum ille comperiens interrogavit hujus causam, respondit: "Cum essem puella et gravem tyrannum paterer, ejus mortem cupiebam; cui successit pejor et similiter orabam ejus mortem; cui tu tercio successisti, quem ceteris pejorem experior; ideo timeo ne tibi deterior succedat, caput meum pro tua salute devoveo. ” Quod ille audiens misericors est effectus.
