Quintodecimo a damnatione liberat.
Legitur de Miraculis beate Virginis quod fuit quidam monachus plenus malis moribus, et ideo abbas et omnes erant contra eum offensi. Dnum t8Otum bonum habebat quod officium beate Virginis devote dicebat et ter in septimana ei missas celebrabat, et quanto devotius poterat ei serviebat et toto mentis conamine ei placere desiderabat. Cum autem gravi infirmitate gravatus misisset pro abbate ut eum placaret, et etiam circumstantes ad ecclesiam mitteret ut pro se orarent beatam Virginem, ut anima ejus liberaretur a damnatione eterna, cum solus remansisset et abbas fuisset ingressus invenit eum sine sensu et motu jacere, et convocatis omnibus monachis dum crederetur e mortuus, subito incepit clam are : « 0 beata Virgo Maria, gratias tibi refero quia liberasti me a damnatione perpetua, et rogasti tuum filium ut cum perfecta confessione et sacramentorum receptione mori valerem. » Et facta integra confessione et Corporis Christi susceptione, ait : « Dilectissimi, Virginem Benedictam omni virtute ornatam decore prefulgidam et Reginam civium supernorum honorate ex corde, quia regis animum trahit et celestia dona largitur et ad ejus nutumj cuncta moventur. »

A dying monk revives and tells the prior that he has been sent back to confess a secret sin. 4. St. Francis’ prayers enable a dead woman to return to life long enough to confess a sin.
