Cantus multa mala inducit in nobis. Primo est deceptivus.

Unde refert Jacobus de Vitriaco quod quidam sacerdos credebat se cantare optime, et tamen pessime cantabat. Cum autem quadam die quedam mulier audiret eum cantantem, ex horribilitate vocis flere incepit. Cum autem ille estimaret quod ex suavitate sue vocis illa excitata ad devotionem esset, fortius cantabat, et illa amplius plorabat. Quod attendens sacerdos, quesivit a muliere quare tantum ploraret, cui illa : "Domine ego sum illa infelix mulier cujus asinum lupus alia die comedit, et quando vos audio cantantem statim innovatur dolor in corde meo, quia omnino sic cantabat asinus meus. ”
