Legitur in Vitas Patrum quod dum quidam monachus quosdam fratres visi. tasset a et jactando mirabilia de celestibus enarraret; dum fratres instarent apud abbatem ut aliquid diceret, respondit : « Sinite eum quia celestis est, et ideo de celestibus loquitur; sed ego terrenus de terra. » Statim tempta-tio mirabilis invasit monachum et hoc propter jactantiam; et dum vellet societatem dimittere, hoc in spiritu cognoscens abbas ait : « Sine frater, fuge jactantiam et evacuabuntur temptationum radices. »
