Legitur in Libro de Septem Donis Spiritus Sancti quod quidam archiepiscopus familiaris regis Anglie scripsit epistolam hanc, in qua epistola C fuerunt hec verba : « Gaudeo de perfectione vite tue -[f° 110]- quia es elemosinarius, pius, justus et amator pacis. Sed luxuria ponit maculam in gloria tua. Considera, obsecro, quantum doleres, quantum erubesceres, quantum tibi displiceret si filia tua fornicaretur. Et ex te ipso scies quantum displicet Deo ut sis servus libidinis, et quod tam vilis pars dominetur in rege. »
